Dot Wave is an American electronic music duo from Los Angeles, California. The band was formed in 2014 by Dominic Escalante (synths, sequencing) and Mimi Chakravorty (vocals, drum programming). The two met while working as assistants in the photography industry and collaborated on the music project over the course of six years. They are heavily influenced by italo disco, electro-clash and club music, both old and new. Lyrically they draw inspiration from the themes of darkness and isolation of the nighttime and horror and surrealist cinema of the late 80’s/ early 90’s.
